Chase the Makarapa and win!
28 January 2010 (14:52)
Chase the Makarapa is a month-long reality adventure series that will see eight participants being afforded the football trip of a lifetime to experience the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

SuperSport is seeking three adventurous, football-crazy Africans to join winners from Asia, Europe and South America in a quest to track the iconic Makarapa (traditional soccer hard hat) through different parts of South Africa, with the opportunity of clinching treasured tickets to attend games at nine of the World Cup venues.

The trip also represents a ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunity to explore and interact with South Africa’s Rainbow Nation and to experience the spirit of UBUNTU - “it’s time to share”.

The journey commences with the chance of attending the opening game at South Africa’s national stadium (Soccer City) in Johannesburg on 11 June. From there, participants will travel to Pretoria/Tshwane, Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town before returning to the City of Gold - Johannesburg - for the World Cup Final at the same venue 31 days later.

Each participant will receive an HD mini-cam, mobile phone and laptop with Internet access. The team will be provided with transport and accommodation and will be accompanied by a SuperSport television crew, which will turn their adventures into a daily 15-minute television show to be broadcast on SuperSport’s 24-hour World Cup channel across the continent and on numerous Internet platforms internationally.

Apart from fun being guaranteed, so is the certainty that the winners will become television and online celebrities, thanks to their experiences of the greatest party on earth.

Entries are now open, so get cracking – the competition closes on March 4.

Remember to go to www.supersport.com on your Mobile phone and keep in touch with the latest scores wherever you are.
